March 2012: Delegation to the Office du Niger

Activists of Afrique-Europe-Interact are visiting rural communities in Mali

Mali is specifically affected by landgrabbing, that is by the sellout of fertile farmland and grazing land to globally operating banks, investment fonds and trusts. Starting in spring 2012 Afrique-Europe-Interact will actively participate in the world-wide resistance against landgrabbing – with actions in Africa as well as in Europe. The starting point will be a delegation's journey in the beginning of march, with about 30 african and european activists from Afrique-Europe-Interact visiting for a week rural communities in Mali, in order to check out the possibilities of common, transnationally-based activities against landgrabbing.
